Decolonial Economics
Decolonisation is a mode of thinking that encapsulates being sensitive to the power and privileges that are fundamental to current institutions, how they have been shaped over a period of time, and a recognition of the enslavement and exploitation of people and resources that have gone into constructing and maintaining the status quo. Within the field of decolonising economics, we try to understand the repercussions of the same. In rejecting a western Euro-centric worldview, there is an attempt to, instead, reframe and reorient issues to address, balance, give space to and illuminate the silenced voices of non-Western views, experiences and thoughts.
